Join Sanne and me on a 10-day bikepacking journey across Sardinia. From coastal paths to mountain climbs, we tackled flat tires, shifting weather, and quiet nights under the stars. With no set route, the trip became more about reconnecting, sharing conversations, and enjoying the freedom of exploring at our own pace. Solo Fall Overnighter | One Last Ride to Seal the Deal
Переглядів 3,8 тис.2 місяці тому
New Year resolutions often fade, but this year I stuck to one: a solo overnighter every season. As a seasoned bikepacker used to traveling with my partner, I wanted to test my ability to travel alone and face unexpected challenges. Join me on my final solo trip through the evergreen forests of Teruel, Spain, and discover the lessons and insights I gained from a year of adventuring solo. Follow ...
Solo Summer Overnighter | Testing, Failing, Learning

With the summer solstice approaching, it was time for my next solo bikepacking overnighter. Despite feeling stressed about taking time off with our upcoming summer-long departure and being behind packing, I decided to go for it. I added a little twist to the adventure this time, but it didn’t bring the experience I was planning for! Follow me on Instagram: belletoscan And check ou...
My Connection to Water | Bikepacking the island of Formentera
Переглядів 3,4 тис.7 місяців тому
For years, I set aside my interest in water sports as my focus shifted entirely to cycling. But as with anything you dearly love and crave, neglecting it for too long starts to weigh on you. So, I decided to turn things around and go on a solo bike trip to the island of Formentera, hoping to reconnect with my water-loving instinct. Follow me on Instagram: belletoscan And check out...
Solo Spring Overnighter | In Search of Balance
Переглядів 26 тис.9 місяців тому
I often find myself caught between two extremes: spending excessive time either outdoors or indoors. Just as easily as I spend hours riding my bike, I can become completely immersed in screen time work for days on end, which isn't exactly the healthiest habit. That's why earlier this year-knowing I’d be dealing with longer periods indoors-I made a promise to myself: to go on a solo bike ride ev...
Solo Winter Overnighter | My first experience with snow
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
After my thrilling first solo overnighter experience in Kyrgyzstan, I knew this couldn’t be a one-off. For 2024 I've set the goal to spend more time adventuring on my own and a lovely way of doing so, I thought, is a per-season bikepacking overnighter. I had never cycled in the snow before and I definitely felt a little anxious about the journey, but I prepared in the best way that I could and ...

My First Solo Overnighter

I've been traveling by bike for 6 years already but have never once spent the night camping alone. During our time in Kyrgyzstan, I found myself with a few days free while Tristan was racing in the Silk Road Mountain Race. So, I decided it was finally time to cross that barrier and embark on my first-ever overnighter. In this video, I invite you along on my bikepacking escape into the hills beh...
Confessions from the Baja Divide
Переглядів 13 тис.Рік тому
On a quest to ride the Baja Divide as a group, I was joining the trip with a fear in mind that I didn't want to confess out loud to the rest. This made me realize that most likely everyone else was joining the adventure with their own concerns or personal goals, so I asked them to privately confess them to the camera before summarizing a chapter of the trip. Join us on our journey through Baja ...
Cycling the Dolomites | My brother's first bikepacking trip

My brother wanted to join us on a bikepacking trip to the Dolomites in Italy. The problem was that he didn't really cycle and was definitely not in good shape. The solution? We designed a nice route and decided to ride it on e-bikes! Special thanks to Tout Terrain for providing us with 3 SKANE trekking e-bikes and to Ortlieb, for gearing us all up for the trip. Cycling Asturias: Re-discovering home

Cycling Asturias: Re-discovering home 2020 has been no-fun for everyone. Since borders closed up and travel became a complication, we decided to spend all this time home, working on other projects. We had never considered cycling in Spain, my home country, so it was the year to give it a go. I realized that one can also find joy and beauty in their own "backyards". so beautiful to see such a trip as friends. Usually you only see couples here on UA-cam.
just.. beautiful. this is the reason why we're alive- to have moments like that.
Beautiful video. How was dealing with t1d during such a physically demanding trip? I have diabetes myself and I dream of doing something like this.
Beautiful
Tough ride
Lovely riding
Impressive.
Stunning video footage. Sardinian is beautiful.
What a beautiful film, Belen! Thanks for highlighting the importance of close friendships, and women supporting and encouraging each other to learn and try new things together.
Belle, going tubeless is an option, but you'll make your bike (and yourself) dirty with the sealant from the tire if the thorn punctures are so frequent, beides, there's a possibility you might run out of the sealant in such conditions. I'd recommend keeping the tubes and getting puncture protection tyres. I'v had them for some years now, and have forgotten what it means to have a flat tyre. They're a bit heavier and slightly more expensive but really worth it. Best wishes!
Slime inner tubes are useful too, you have inner tubes filled with sealant for when punctures might happen, at least little ones and the green slime shows where the punctures are if it cant cope on its own.
So many people are recommending this. Great tip!
@@BelleToscani liked the reassurance with my mountain bike before i went over to tubeless and prefer the hassle free aspect of inner tubes handling the sealant. Tubeless are great except it is higher maintenance to keep on top of sealant drying out and finding the version which best suits your needs. Some expire after 3 months in the tyre, others you can top up and last up to a year but no guarantee the carbon fibre pieces are still floating in the solution. Your bike with the gearbox is very cool! Looks so effortless when you were riding the steep section with that cadence vs regular gearing. Is it fast on the flats too and does it feel much different otherwise? Brilliant trip you had together, must try this with my friends sometime.
AND.....WHAT HAPPENS TO TRISTON? 👈😊
This video is stunning on so many levels from your narrating to filming, everything felt so peaceful. And that shot at the end with two of you pushing the bikes on the beach is just amazing.
What's the intro music please?
All of my music comes from Artlist.
WOW!
😍❤️
Amazing video! It looked like an incredible journey. It looks like there was something on your arm at the end? Is it a glucose sensor by any chance?
Im a T1D! You guess correctly. ☺️
@BelleToscan me too! I was thinking a trip like this might be difficult to manage? I've only ever done shorter trips but would love to work up to a cycle holiday travelling and cycling for at least a few days. Amazing 👏
Beautiful trip and great views of my island! Pity you found fog on the Bosa-Alghero. It really is a wonderful cycle route. I was surprised to see so many wide gravel paths between Orosei and Orgosolo, must do a bike trip on the east coast sometime (I did lots of trekking in the area in the past, but I only recently started biking). The sunset over Capo Caccia at the end was magnificent. Thanks for a great video.
There so so many trails inland in the island. You can check the recently verified TranSardinia route that Tristan uploaded to bikepacking.com for great gravel inspiration.
This is unbearable to watch for a man. All this emotional blubber like from a diary of a 13 years old. And yet we watch two adult, european, emancipated, strong and independent women being able to earn a living by theirself, yet getting anxiety over simple tasks. Doggos were cute though.
I don't even bike but I'm watching all these videos to the end for some reason. I never watch UA-cam videos to the end! I normally switch off after a few minutes on every vid and then close the app and walk off lol. There's no chance you'd catch me watching a 30min vid. I guess your videos are different. Thanks for making them ❤
That's very sweet. Thank you!
It was so enjoyable to hear your thoughts and see the beautiful time you two had together! Amazing job with this one Belén ✨
👍👍👍
Grateful for your filming enthusiasm :) I am also not used to winter so this video is very helpful! you mentioned an insulated footprint? is that a tent footprint or a generic insulating material cut to mattress size?
I cut a piece from a foam insulation roll (those used for radiators) that would fit under my air mattress. Works wonderfully! It packs quite big, but I roll it and strap it under my handlebar bag. =)
What a beautiful account of what seems to have been an idyllic trip! Could you let us know what time of year this was? Also, do you have a map or detailed route description you could share? Thanks!
We did this trip in mid-October. Regarding the route, we improvised most of the time, but if you are curious, you can check it on this link: www.komoot.com/tour/1889333053?share_token=azLY6D8esEtUY34wZ3sNkaHpb742dRICVo1Q4oZKbJ70ZPk8OQ&ref=wtd
An absolutely beautiful video. And you have such a gift with words describing your trip, thoughts, friendship and all that this trip entails. I can only hope you'll take us along on many more trips like it! 💓
Thanks a lot! Coming next will be a solo trip in Vietnam. Very excited for this one!
Such a beautiful video! Extremely hard to make, while it looks effortless, and I mean that as a huge compliment. I love the storytelling, your philosophy, the amazing footage and action shots…. And your friendship looks very special. You are right, as grown ups it can be hard to make new connections, and you two seem to feel so comfortable with each other. ❤
Thanks a lot for the kind words. Indeed... shooting a video in this way takes a lot of dedication, but I couldn't have done it without Sanne's patience to stop and ride by the camera. She was such a natural too! I really appreciate our friendship. =)
Hi Belén, super nice video about frienship, cycling, adventure and nature to watch. The mix between the static camera shots and action shots worked really well too! Very nice to watch! I love the way you and Tristan cycle and make video, very informative too. Thank you! Greetings from Ralf, we bumped into each other in France in Langres this summer. Got a really nice picture with you and Tristan 😊
Thank you! I'm experimenting with the action camera-not always convinced with it as the quality of the image is way lower but I like the different perspectives it provides. Riding with the mirrorless means shaky footage, so the action camera is perfect for this. Greetings back from Spain! We remember our little Eurovelo ride this summer very fondly. =)
@ Both cameras blended seamlessly into each other, very nice dynamic. The action camera is really into the moment. And with the quality of the mirrorless is like we are there with you. Greetings to Tristan! You guys are exactly the same in real life as you are in the video. Very nice to meet you. Greetings from Holland👋🏼
Very nice, peaceful voice and photography! Did a road trip in Sardinia many many years ago and viewing this remembered me of the beauty of it. Thnx
Belen, thank you for sharing again your artistry/photography/soul and this amazing example of what bikepacking with a treasured friend can bring when both support each other to enjoy the journey itself and the connection rather than the destination. Love the intimacy of this deepening friendship and the spirit of adventure. Guess what? You now have PROVED that you are an expert at repairing flats! I love that Sanne's loving acceptance of what the adventure brings also supported you and the spirit of adventure. Although I have been loving your videos for quite a while, I'm happy that Russ Rocca from The Path Less Pedaled gave you a shout out on his channel so that more kindred spirits can enjoy these amazing breathtaking videos. I've bookmarked this one for friends. Roll on!
Ohhh... Thanks for the nice comment! I do need to prove I can fix them WITHOUT even Sanne, hahaha. Just on my own! I'm curious about the podcast, do you know which episode got the shout-out? Always keen on finding new interesting podcasts! =)
@@BelleToscanThere is a video on his channel, naming ‘36 alternative cycling channels to watch’. It’s great he is supporting other creators. You are one of the few women in the list. 💪🏼 (I would love to see more stories from female cyclists, also in the magazines/newspapers - we are working on it ;).)
looked like a beautiful ride, thanks for sharing.
Great filming and beautiful friendship, congrats 💯🔝
Très belle vidéo !!! Merci 😊
pretty nice video. keep pedaling
I love your stories and adventures. You have an such a warm tone and your work always makes me feel "things" :D
Incredible ladies! What month were you there? I was there in November 2024. I had the same experience with trying to escape the rain. :D
This was mid October! So very close to you. We have awesome blue warm days and then all of a sudden it changed drastically for 4 days, then beautiful again!
This is a really soothing watch, thank you for sharing❤
Sanna has a beautiful body 😍
As a photographer I wanted to compliment you on the composition of your shots, they were all really good and I cannot imagine how much work it took to set up the tripod and camera and take it down after biking past it, especially that bridge shot. Can you share what kind of camera, lenses and tripod you used? I saw an action camera but I am assuming the rest of the shots were a dslr or mirrorless?
Hello! Indeed, it's quite the job to shoot-well spotted the bridge section! We were lucky to get that section without cars! You also need some good trust to leave the camera hanging around on its own for such a long time. I use a Sony a7iv with a 24-70mm f2.8 Sony Lens. Perfect all around travel camera for me, including photography. The action camera is the DJI Action 4. =)
Beautiful story, beautiful scenery, beautiful smiles.
Do you take these amazing shots with a quadcopter?
девочки вы большие молодцы .дружбы вам большой большой
Hi, great video! Thank you for sharing your trip with us! One question: What model/brand ist the flat bar bike? thx.
They are both Tout Terrain bikes, but the flat bar one is the Outback Xplore with a C1.12 Pinion gearbox and belt.
NICE‼️
Nice filming, nice storytelling, nice trip!
You are a wonderful person, I am honored to go on a bike trip with you. All my love and respect to you from❤❤morroco
Wow! I just found your channel and I love this! This Video is so inspiring
Hi there! Just saw you've also been going on overnighters last year. Very cool! Nothing beats a good, short weekend escape close to home to reset the mindset. Thanks for the kind words. =)
The pacing and audio of the video is so good. It is such a gentle and pleasant watch, thank you so much for sharing ❤
